Yearbook Design Tips / sites?
Hello, I am the design editor for our school yearbook this year, and I am relatively new to InDesign CS (the program you're using) and the overall design. I'm a little intimidated at the thought of having to design the whole book. Does anyone have any advice / Website design & good for me? Are there things in your yearbook really liked or really hated? If you just want more comments!
I decided to give each one of my teammates of his section. We are a relatively small school, so we have 150 pages (with ads), so that each student had in many pages and have done it that way. I think a book of the year looks better with a person's book full uniform flare. Give students pages you know has a certain acclimation to the topic will be covered. As an athlete to play sports, and some others. Give a drama student of the page theater, etc. As for the "theme" of its yearbook, Blue Prints ours was a blue cover design printed on the front, almost like a blue-print of a house. We had some additions to school, so we thought it best fits. You can not please everyone, so make sure you're following the rules Gold: Follow the rules of pica, no copy is trapped, 8pt font title, 10pt font for body copy. Do not be afraid to give his book flare, students who do are part of the students who read, so I know what people want to see and hear in his book. Ignore things that can not be changed and accept the things I can! I also find it fun to make your own designs, makes for a most interesting book, so it is not reusing the same old designs, book after book.
