How can I use a regular-sized graphics tablet on a wide-screen computer?

I recently got a laptop for myself…the HP HDX 18t, featuring an aspect ratio of 16×9. I’d really like to keep using my old graphics tablet, with an aspect ratio of 6×8. Is there any way I can get these two things to have the same (or, at least, close to the same) ratios, for doing photoshop and flash animation? Please, any help at all would be great, and please don’t just tell me “get a new computer screen/graphics tablet”, I can’t afford it at the moment.

I don’t think it should be a big problem here’s why.

Most media programs (flash, illustrator, photoshop, etc) setup the drawing space to be a 4*3 (landscape portrait). So that area is defined in certain amount of pixels.

Now your monitor is a wide screen monitor, it has a 16X9 pixel ratio.
However you are still restricted by the amount of pixels the program allows for in its workspace, and since most are 4X3 your drawing pad will only draw in that space.

So you have nothing to worry about you are still limited by the program, even if you have a wide screen monitor
