Has anyone heard of the need for a "cannot trip" replaced in a room to prevent leakage of water?

An add-on room in a 2-story house – go steady loss in the same spot. His whole world and no one to fix and as an engineer and complete removal of drywall and insulation ceiling and mold removal. Above the door of the room on the cover that is above this room has been set too .. In 5 years, never stopped this problem, no matter what was done. The new owners purchased (explain all the problems including receipts and all information). Your home inspector was aware of this and a beautiful home at 3000 ft / beautiful scenery, made an inspection in 10 minutes. Three months later the new owners said a technician (which sent us a letter) told they had to buy a new "cannot trip." So ……. I still wonder, what is that??? The fact is, of course, who bought the house "as is", but it has with the letters and threats – going crazy. They knew they were wrong, but have a family full of lawyers and judges.

Never heard of hypocrisy a "trip" and I've been in business for 30 years. Probably someone consists of the name for something I did not know the correct name for. And if you can be sure they do not know what they are doing, for starters. You're right, the new owners have no resources. He bought the house as is and made aware of the problem beforehand. If you're willing to pay for this repair, however, get some more "This" hands on solution to the problem and I also get a lawyer. It may cost you more than the repair is, but it would teach these people a lesson. I hate people like this. Adding Good luck.: I've been thinking about this more since I sent a reply, I love a good puzzle. Possibly may refer to what is known as a gate "threshold". It is the bottom of the doorjamb of the Assembly and runs from one side of the jamb to the other. Think of a rectangle vertical and this would be the side on the bottom. These usually costs or "song" down abroad in order to shed water and prevent it from coming under your door. They can be wood or metal. Since that is placed in the bottom of the frame and walk on it the word "travel" may come to mind. This is all hypothetical, but you never know. Sills made of wood can go wrong after many years, rarely metal. More than likely if this is the reason for concern is the ledge of the same, but the installation of the door that is at fault, usually inadequate flashing (metal, rubber waterproof membrane) below the threshold / Jamb assembly. To fix this, if the cause would require removing and replacing the sill, in order to reflash. It is inexpensive, depending on the length of the sill means 100 150 for materials, perhaps the work of 2 hours. Worst case would be to remove the entire assembly of the door, redo the flashing, and reinstall the door. Add about another work of two hours and maybe 50 more in materials. I have my doubts about this is, as you say, you had engineers investigating the Wazoo. And again, do not be your responsibility. I'd appreciate a note back each time to find out what this turns out to be …… e-mail me? Never hurts to have another piece of hidden knowledge! Again, GOOD LUCK!
